Rents in the U.S. jumped an annual 2.9% in the third quarter, an analysis by RealPage shows, faster than the second quarter’s 2.5%. While the growth is slower than three years ago, it surpassed economists’ expectations for the fall, which is typically weaker. Occupancy also grew to 95.8% from 95.4% in the most recent period, with the strongest markets seen in the Sunbelt.
